Yamaha first worked on the reactive suspension technology of the car and the relationship with Toyota in the 1990s. The point of the snowmobile system is the highly effective interactive dampening system that replaces two shock tubes with an additional master volume. Simply, instead of getting a full shock action on one side and no “weak” side, Yamaha YRSS allows the reduction of compensation from side to side as needed to maintain the most stable and flat handling.
Yamaha replaces the normal one-per-shock reservoir with a unique one that is connected through the hose to each body of shock. While the independent shocks appear quite as before, the oil / gas mixture is strategically strategically contiguous based on the need to keep the sleigh flat through the bend.
